Institution Mixte Scolaire de Lafferonnay

Konbit got connected with this school at the beginning of 2017 and after many meetings, we have decided to start partnering with them. Their school building was built by an organization in France but they have had minimal assistance with the everyday operation and needs. Currently the school has 134 students in their primary and secondary school. These students come from low income areas and the school accepts many children for free. However, because they do that, it causes problems when it comes to having money to pay teachers. Many teachers are owed backpay but yet they still continue to show up and sow into the students they have because they understand the importance of education for their country.

The school has many needs that we feel Konbit can help with and we are looking to leverage our resources, networks, and teams to meet those needs. Currently, the school has to rent benches and desks in order to accommodate the students they have enrolled in their classes. There are needs for teacher trainings. There are needs for teaching materials. There are needs for an outdoor covered auditorium and a desire to see a basketball court and soccer field on the school grounds. Painting needs to be done. Bathrooms need to be built outdoor. Shelves for the library are needed. Tools to maintain the fields and grass are needed. This isn't an exhaustive list but as you can see, there are many things we can help with.

We are excited to partner with this school and we look forward to serving them alongside of you. If you are an educator or would like to partner with us to partner with them, please contact us!  Let's Konbit together!
